Library Staff

Staff Report: (Kasi Allen)

This is the 2nd year the library has offered Ready Set Kindergarten to children entering Kindergarten in the upcoming school year. We currently offer two classes. One on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am. We currently have a steady 22-30 children participating. Our 2nd class is on Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm. This is a much smaller class but we have seen a huge improvement in the learning skills of these children in the smaller class. We provide the class in a classroom setting just as if they were attending kindergarten and provide the same concepts of learning to the children with homework assignments for both the parent and the child. The library has 14 Ready Set Kindergarten Backpacks available for check out to patrons. Each backpack includes a book and concepts for the major learning groups such as numbers and letters.

The Foundation will contribute $30,000 for the RFID project. Phase II of our landscaping project $60,000.
